Glendale Falcons: 2011 Missouri Class 3: 3rd Place

The Falcons defeated the Incarnate Word Red Knights, 2-0, in the Class 3 state consolation game. The 3rd place finish is the best in the program’s history. The Falcons finish the season with a 22-2-0 record.
Stats: Allison Yoakam (1G), Emily Cline (1G/1A).

Emily Cline’s goal and assist give her 101 points for the season.

Congratulations to the Catholic Fighting Irish on their second consecutive Class 1 state championship. Catholic defeated St. Vincent 3-2 in the championship game.

Liberty defeated Ursuline 2-1 in (1OT) to win the Class 3 championship. Liberty’s Shea Groom scored a goal with 1 second left in the first overtime. She also scored the equalizer with about 3 minutes left in regulation.

In the state semifinals, the Falcons lost to the Liberty Bluejays, 0-8.

The Falcons will play the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights at on Field 5 of the Anheuser Busch Center at 1:00pm in the consolation match.

The Big Day Has Arrived

It has been a hectic week, but the big day has finally arrived. Tonight the Falcons take on the Liberty Bluejays at 7:00pm in the Class 3 semifinals at the Anheuser Busch Center in Fenton.

The Week Ahead

Tuesday, May 31
3:15-4:00pm: Practice at the track. Players need to bring their running shoes.

Wednesday, June 1
9:15am: Glendale parade to honor the girls.
3:30-5:00pm: Practice on Cooper 3.
Banquet registration deadline.

Thursday, June 2
No practice.
JV only players should bring their uniforms and bags to the shed after school.
6:00-8:30pm: Banquet at the DoubleTree Hotel.
Final Four t-shirts will be sold at the banquet.

Friday, June 3
9:30am: The bus will depart Glendale.
5:00pm: Ursuline Bears vs. Incarnate Word Red Knights on Field 1.
7:00pm: Glendale Falcons vs. Liberty Bluejays on Field 1. Admission is $7.00. Parking is $2.00.

Saturday, June 4
1:00pm: Consolation Game on Field 5
6:00pm: Championship Game on Field 1.
