Girls To Attend Mandatory Training Thursday

by Administrator on January 12, 2009

The Falcons will again be participating in the Cox Health PEP Program. Cox Health has developed a program specifically designed to help young female athletes. The program is called the PEP Program (Prevent Injury and Enhance Performance) and it aims to reduce ACL injuries in female soccer players. The program includes a video presentation and discussion, followed by an on-field/gym training session.

The Falcons will be participating as a team. This is a mandatory event, if you plan to play soccer you should plan to attend. Those playing winter sports should alert Judy or Sara if they have a scheduling conflict. We want everyone to attend in the hope of preventing a midseason injury.

What: PEP ACL Program
Presenter: Dr. Rusty Bond
Where: Meyer Center on National Avenue
When: Thursday, January 15 at 4:00pm

There should be ample drivers to transport freshmen or other non-drivers, but if you cannot find a ride contact Emily Jordan or Jeni Frewin for assistance. Parents can contact Judy or Sara to arrange rides for young players.

Please meet in the lobby of the Meyer Center.

What to Wear:

  • Bring both tennis shoes and cleats.
  • Dress appropriately for outdoor and indoor activity.

The presentations takes just over one hour, end time is estimated at 5:15pm. Non-drivers will need to be picked up at that time. If you know players planning to play this spring who are not participating in pre-season conditioning please alert them to these details.
