In the first match of the Gateway City Classic, the Falcons defeated the Glenbrook North Spartans, 2-1, on penalty kicks. Goalkeeper Jordan Pitts blocked all three GBN penalty kicks and the Falcons converted all three of their attempts.
Match Stats: Austin Hart (1G), Patrick Baltz (1A).
Penalty Kicks Converted: Patrick Baltz, Cameron Dugan, Chris Maddox.
The Falcons will next play at 9:45am on Saturday against the winner of the Ft. Zumwalt South vs. Hudson (WI) match.

Thursday, October 1
The Falcons (Varsity only) travel to Camdenton to play a make-up game with the Lakers. Players will be dismissed at 1:00pm with bus departure set for 1:30pm. Kickoff is at 4:00pm. The team will be staying at the Fairfield Inn in Fairview Heights, IL.
Friday, October 2
The Falcons will open play at the Gateway City Soccer Classic against the Glenbrook North Spartans at 3:00pm on Friday, October 2. Kickoff was originally scheduled for 3:45pm. Field directions are available on the tournament Web site.
Bleacher seating is limited. You may want to take lawn chairs. Admission will be charged: $5 per session for adults and $3 per session for students. Weekend wristbands can be purchased for $10 for adults and $5 for students.
The bus will depart from Glendale at 9:00am.

Coach Rogers will be on The Jock 98.7 at 2:55pm to discuss the funds raised last night for breast cancer awareness. The Falcons Nation raised over $1,000 last night.
