We are one week away from the start of practice. There are several important things you should know….
Captain’s Runs are at the Glendale track at 8am M-F.
The final kick around will be at the Lake Country North fields on Wednesday, August 4, at 5:30 pm. The kickarounds are run by the team captains.
Tryouts will begin at 8am 7am on Monday, August 9. There will be practices twice a day. The coaches will tell the boys the afternoon practice times.
The team will go to the KC Wizards vs San Jose Earthquakes match on August 14. The tentative meeting time at Glendale will be 9am. Both of these teams are rumored to be relocating next season.
Please get your ad information to Bryan Baltz no later than August 18. If you have your ads ready, you may drop them off at The Copy Shoppe at 1446 E. Sunshine.
Many players have not submitted their paperwork, especially the physicals. No one steps foot on the field on Monday, August 9 without a physical.

Last weekend I moved the website to a new hosting service. This change will allow us to implement some cool new features including streaming video. I have implemented a few small changes and added RSS/XML syndication. I hope to get some additional changes implented on the backside and rollout a redesign by September.
The bad news is that in the process of moving the site, I lost the addresses in the email distribution lists. If you want the content of this news page delivered to you, please subscribe to the email list or syndicated news feed.

The 2004 match schedule is now available in PDF format. It will be a week or longer before the html version is posted.

Many thanks for a great soccer ball drive for Iraq. We sent a 58 lb. box to Captain Fyfe in Iraq on June 20, 2004 which was packed full of more than 40 soccer balls and equipment. Below is the text of the letter we sent with the package to Captain Fyfe.In addition, I included information on the Glendale Boys Soccer Program (and the Lake Country Soccer Association). We appreciate your support and efforts in collecting all of these items. You all did a fantastic job!
As soon as we hear anything from Captain Fyfe or others — we will let you know. I am certain the troops and Iraq youth will be most appreciative of your efforts.
Sincerely,
Nancy Parsons
Our letter to Captain Fyfe:
June 19, 2004
Dear Captain Fyfe:
We heard about your request for soccer balls and equipment on Fox & Friends with Brian Kilmeade. Lake Country Soccer Association and Glendale High School Soccer of Springfield, Missouri sought donations. We are happy to send you this huge box of soccer balls and things we collected.
We wanted to let you and your troops know that we are proud of what you are doing and wanted to help in some way. Leave it to a soccer coach to find a great way to reach out to the Iraq youth! Who knows — maybe someday one of your youth teams (Iraq or USA) can visit Springfield for a friendly match.
We wish you, your troops and the Iraq youths the best. Many thanks for your service.
God Bless You All,
Nancy, Bill, Matthew, & Andrew Parsons, and Frank Roth
