Falcons Defeat the Bettendorf Bulldogs

by Administrator on April 28, 2007

The Falcons defeated the Bettendorf Bulldogs, 2-1 (4-3 in penalty kicks).
Match Stats: Emily Jordan (1G).
Penalty Kicks: Katie Brewer (1G), Lauren Bettlach (1G), Jeni Frewin (1G), Mindy Neal (1G).

The teams played back-to-back games this morning and this match had 30 minute halves and went straight to penalty kicks instead of playing overtime because Bettendorf has prom tonight.

Penalty kicks are handled differently up there. The shooter has five seconds to shoot and the keeper can come out.

In penalty kicks, Laura McElroy came out and made the first shooter miss. Falcons Katie Brewer, Lauren Bettlach, Jeni Frewin, and Mindy Neal all converted their penalty kicks. McElroy blocked the fifth shot and the match was over. Emily Jordan was slated to be the Falcons fifth shooter.

The Falcons finish the weekend 2-1. We will have to see the results of the remaining games to see where we finished.

Well done!
