Former Falcon Ben Hamilton, who currently plays for St. Louis Community College – Meramec, has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Player of the Week.
St. Louis Community College – Meramec (Mo.) forward Ben Hamilton and Illinois Central College defender Marko Urlic have been named NJCAA Men’s Division I Soccer Players of the Week for contests ending Oct. 6th.
Hamilton, a native of Springfield, Mo., continued to lead 13th-ranked Meramec in scoring with game-winning goals against Lewis and Clark Community College and Johnson County Community College to boost the Magic to a 10-3-1 record. Against 12th-ranked Lewis and Clark, Hamilton scored twice – once to put Meramec up 2-1 and then again after the score was tied to give the Magic the 3-2 victory. He has scored nine goals this season with two assists.
Congratulations, Ben!

Springfield Soccer Club is proud to announce the Midwest Indoor College Showcase on Monday, January 21, 2008 (MLK National Holiday) at the Lake Country Soccerdome for High School Junior and Senior Boys & Girls players.
This event will give players an opportunity to play a minimum of two games in front of college coaches from the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA levels. All games will be played on an indoor field with dasher boards which will facilitate fast-paced games in a controlled environment which makes it easier for college coaches to evaluate the players.
The Midwest Indoor College Showcase will be comprised of individual players who will be assigned to teams prior to the event. Geographic location of players, positions and graduation year will be considered when forming the teams.
Please pass along information about this unique showcase opportunity to players in your program as we feel this will be an event that will help players immensely in their college search process. We have already received a number of commitments from some outstanding college programs to attend this inaugural event.
The cost is $50.00 per player which should be mailed in with the player application. Each player will receive a shirt to wear during the showcase and college coaches will receive a player profile booklet with profiles on each player in the showcase.
If you have any questions on the Midwest Indoor College Showcase please feel free to contact me in the Springfield Soccer Club Office at 417-832-1552 or via email. We look forward to having some of your players at the Midwest Indoor College Showcase in January of 2008 and appreciate your support in sharing this information with your players.
