The Falcons lost to the Divine Savior Holy Angels Dashers, 1-7. DSHA is ranked 20th in the nation in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.

Falcons Defeat Covenant Day

The tournament pairings changed again this morning. We are now scheduled to play two teams that were in the “elite” bracket.

The Falcons defeated Covenant Day School from Matthews, NC, 5-0.
Match Stats: Emily Cline (3G), Lindsey Sprouse (2G), Jeni Frewin (3A), Emily Jordan (1A), Emilee Williams (1A).

At 11:00am, the Falcons will play Divine Savior Holy Angels from Milwaukee, WI. DSHA tied Incarnate Word this morning, 1-1.

Yesterday, the Waynesville Tigers lost to St. Charles North from Illinois (0-4). The match ended 30 minutes early due to the weather.

Tournament of Champions Travel Information

The bus will depart for the Tournament of Champions from Glendale at 6:00am tomorrow.

The team is staying at PZAZZ Fun City; 3001 Winegard Dr.; Burlington, IA 52601; 319-753-2223.

Wristbands for tournament admission are $12.00 for adults and $7.00 students/children. Contact Judy if you need to purchase a wristband.

Financial Needs

  • Tournament t-shirts are $10.00 and will be in limited supply.
  • The booster club will provide Friday breakfast on the bus and Friday night dinner. Saturday morning breakfast is provided by the motel. Players should bring money for Friday lunch and Saturday dinner. Players can eat the Saturday lunch provided by the tournament or buy their own.
  • The player’s accommodations are at Fun City, a hotel that offers arcade games, laser tag and other forms of entertainment. Players should bring spending money to enjoy these options.

Falcons Fall To Catholic

The Varsity lost to Springfield Catholic on penalty kicks, 1-2. Penalty kicks went to the 7th shooter.
Match Stats: Lorin Opfer (1G), Emilee Williams (1A).
Penalty Kicks Converted: Emily Cline, Lorin Opfer, Katie Brewer, Maggie Schrier.

The JV lost to Catholic, 1-2. The game ended at halftime.

Falcons Defeat Hillcrest Hornets

On Senior Night, the Varsity defeated the Hillcrest Hornets, 8-0.
Match Stats: Jeni Frewin (1G/1A), Megan Garrad (1G/1A), Emily Cline (1G), Lindsey Sprouse (1G), Emilee Williams (1G), Katie Brewer (1G), Jamie Bond (1G), Ashleigh Dallas (1G), Mindy Moffe (1A).

The JV defeated the Hillcrest Hornets, 4-0.

Tomorrow we travel a few blocks to take on the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish. The Varsity match will kickoff at 4:30pm with the JV match to follow.
