Allen Vaughan of The News-Leader has declared Kickapoo #1 in soccer (and everything else):
There’s no denying the boys’ soccer team’s status, either. The Class 2 No. 5 Chiefs (15-1) lost their first match of the season Saturday, falling 2-1 to Class 2 No. 4 Vianney. By the way, the Griffins are No. 18 in ESPNRise’s national rankings.
Kickapoo beat Glendale 1-0 on Oct. 1 to hold local bragging rights, too. Obviously this is far from being decided, but after last season’s third-place state finish, the Chiefs are an easy No. 1 in local soccer.
