State Championship Tournament Moves to Blue Springs

by Administrator on September 16, 2011

The MSHSAA has voted to move the state soccer championship tournament to Kansas City area beginning this Fall:

Three outlets also submitted proposals to host the MSHSAA Soccer Championships for both the boys championships in the Fall and the girls championships in the Spring.  The venues suggested in the proposals included the The Soccer Park in Fenton, Blue Springs South High School and the Cooper Fields at the Lake Country Soccer Complex in Springfield.

With one Board member abstaining, the Board voted 7-1 to play both the boys and girls championships using facilities at the Blue Springs School District for three years.  Beginning with the boys championships this Fall through the girls championships in the Spring of 2014, the semifinals and finals will be played in the Kansas City area for the first time ever.

The complete press release is posted on the MSHSAA website.

Website Updates And Changes

by Administrator on September 12, 2011

In case you have not visited the website recently, a number of updates have been completed over the past few weeks. The team schedules, team rosters, team photos, senior photos, game photos, and sponsor ads have been added. The stats page for 2011 will be rolled out next week.

The design has been tweaked a bit. The site now has two columns instead of three. The boys and girls team specific information is now available from a pulldown menu at the top of the page. The links to other websites have been removed until they can be verified and updated. The site also now displays 10 small photos instead of 10-20 thumbnails. The various ways of subscribing to the site’s content are also now more clear. There are some more design changes in store, but they may need to wait until this winter.

We have had a Twitter account (@glendalesoccer) since last Fall, but we are just now really starting to use it. All news items posted on the website will automatically generate a tweet, plus we will comment or link to things of interest from time to time. The last five tweets are visible in the right column.
